Wellness Visits and Preventative Care

Wellness Visits and Preventative Care

The cornerstone of maintaining good health and longevity is a complete physical exam done on a yearly basis.  This allows us to evaluate your pet’s general health, focus on how to optimize it, and to detect potential problems early. Based on our evaluation of your pet’s health status and their environment, we will individualize their vaccination and parasite prevention programs. For senior animals (dogs starting at around 7 years of age, and cats at 8-10 years of age) we recommend getting baseline bloodwork, which may detect disease, as well as serve as a comparison for future testing. In some cases, we may recommend x-rays for the same reasons. When we integrate all these things, we build a sold foundation for your pets healthcare.

Medical Visits

Medical Visits

Many medical complaints can be handled effectively on an outpatient basis. Our in-house laboratory and digital X-ray capabilities allow us to initiate treatment in a timely manner. We put your pet’s health first. For more in-depth medical or surgical cases, we may recommend referral to one of our local specialty practice.

Surgery

Surgery

Our clinic currently offers the following surgeries:

  • spay and neuter (cat & dog)
  • tumor removal
  • hernia and laceration repairs
  • biopsies

We perform a pre-surgical physical exam and pre-anesthetic blood work on all our patients prior to each procedure to make certain it is safe to proceed. While under anesthesia, our patient’s vital signs are monitored closely by a technician. Our patients also receive intravenous fluids to support their blood pressure and allow IV access in case of an emergency.

From admission to discharge our team will communicate what to expect while your pet is with us and we’ll update you on their status. When it is time for your pet to go home, we will go over the discharge instructions with you carefully, to help ensure a good recovery to home.

Veterinary Pharmacy

Veterinary Pharmacy

We keep many of the commonly prescribed medications and preventatives that your pet may need in our pharmacy. We also have access to many other products through our online store.

End of Life Services

End of Life Services

It can be very difficult to know when is the right time to say goodbye to your beloved pet. To help you in your decision-making process, we can talk with you about quality of life concerns. We make the procedure as peaceful and dignified as possible. Once we’ve given your pet a sedative and they are relaxed, we’ll move ahead at a pace that you are comfortable with. The final injection will work quickly, and we will carefully confirm that your pet has passed. How much time you need to say goodbye is up to you.

Our crematory services are reliably provided by a local, professional veterinary cremation service. We offer both communal and individual cremation, and can also provide you with a clay pawprint keepsake upon request.

We encourage you to call us if you are contemplating your pet’s end of life, so we can help guide you and plan ahead thoughtfully.
